Awareness Session on Child Sexual Abuse at

Shree Chuni Devi Lower Secondary School, Bungamati, Chunikhel, Lalitpur

On June 24th, 2022 Friday an awareness session was conducted from Grade 3 to 8. Most of the students were from outskirts of Lalitpur district and their parents were either daily wage workers or worked in brick kiln or were farmers.

Two-Day Workshop on Child Sexual Abuse Awareness at Lalit Kalyan Kendra

We conducted two day workshop on child sexual abuse awareness at Lalit Kalyan School, Lalitpur. It was held in two groups divided into little kids age group and bigger kids age group and was facilitated by our counsellors. Attendance was around 120, including kids, teachers and parents. The team conducted workshop covering education on private parts, bad touch, ways to identify, intervene and deal with them, importance of consent, etc. This being our second workshop, the response received during this workshop has only strengthened our realization on how important programs such as these are.

Feeding hungry kids and their family during Covid 19 Pandemic

On May 10, TSHK, along with various collaborators like, Khushi Foundation Nepal, Seven, Conscious Connections Foundation-CCF, Stories of Nepal and Collaborative School Network made and distributed food packs at Jana Uddhar Secondary School, Budhanilkantha. Contribution of Rs.143,802 from TSHK was made possible by personal donations and it was used to feed 34 daily wage working families  (of 4 on average) with little kids for 3/4 weeks. This was made possible by selflessly working volunteers team TSHK and the organizers. 

The Food pack consisted of: 15kg rice, 5kg Daal (lentil), 5kg Potatoes, 5kg Chiura  (beaten rice), 2kg Sugar, 1kg Kwaati (mixed legumes), 1 packet nutrella (soy nuggets), 1 dozen biscuits, 2 packets salt, 8 Soap bars, 1 packet Sattu (cereal flour/organic protein shake powder), 1 packet sanitary pad (donated), 2 packets spices, 3 litres oil

CSA Awareness campaign at Shree Bhanodaya Siddhipur Basic School

Timro Surakhsya Hamro Kartabya (TSHK) held Workshop on Child Sexual Abuse Awareness at Shree Bhanodaya Siddhipur Basic School, Siddhipur, Lalitpur on Feb 25, 2020, in collaboration with Rotary E Club of District 3292, Nepal, Code for Nepal, DFSK NEPAL and Community Police Nepal Police Headquarter. The workshop included topics such as Child Rights, Signs of Abuse, Ways to recognise and react to child sexual abuse - aimed to educate children, parents and teachers. 

Community Police at Tikhedewal also gave a resourceful presentation about general safety of children, ways to report to the Police incase of danger, staying safe on the road and about responsibilities outdoors. 

This was a pilot project that has enabled us to gain a better understanding of the situation and improve our campaign resources and training modules that can be replicated across schools to help students, parents as well as teachers.

Health camp and Awareness Program for children at Shree Bhanodaya School

On Aug 24,2019, TSHK ran a health camp for children at Shree Bhanodaya School today, in collaboration with Rotary E Club of District 3292, Nepal. The first round of survey on Child Sexual Abuse and Information/ Awareness session was also undertaken successfully. The survey results have been recorded anonymously and saved in data repository of TSHK for further analysis. We thank the school, the Rotary E-Club District 3292, our supportive Psychologist Monica Devkota, Rotaract Club of Patan Volunteers and the children and their parents for joining hands and making this a fruitful session. We hope to run workshops following the survey.
