Grass-root Awareness Campaign

The campaign’s goal is to create awareness about sexual abuse and harassment on children. Awareness workshops have been designed to be conducted at the schools in Nepal that mostly lack funding and curriculum on the subject; with higher priority given to the schools that have majority students from minority groups and under-prevelaged population.

Objectives

• Raise awareness about child sexual abuse, assault and harassment through education, campaigns, training and one to one surveys.

• Provide counseling services and support groups to the survivors and potential victims.

• Train the teachers and enable them to identify child sexual abuse, intervene appropriately when identified, and provide conselling to children who may have been affected. 

Approach

• Conduct Awareness workshops  to educate the focus audience on child sexual abuse, identification, intervention and prevention 

• Provide screening surveys to minors 

• Provide counseling to any identified victims through the surveys

• Provide training to  teachers to identify and intervene abuse on a child and to equip them  with tools for immediate response 

• Publish impact assessment report and training certificates to schools and teachers
